To be a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon a doctor must pass the minimum five-year of undergraduate, medical school, and a four-year residency program after school. Board certified Plastic Surgeons are required to adhere to strict guidelines on what is acceptable practice. For instance, these doctors are required to maintain a certain level of education in order to accurately perform their patients’ surgery procedures. They are also required to have a specific amount of experience that they are required to complete before they are allowed to perform cosmetic or reconstructive surgeries. A general anesthesia training course is also a requirement to be a qualified doctor of this kind of work.
