Dentures

A proper fitting denture is very important. A good fit ensures that your dentures will allow you to retain much of your function, which is important for maintaining natural muscle tone in your face and jaw. Dentures will keep you looking and feeling healthy and will help you retain a natural lifestyle. A lifelike smile and the best possible fit – are two of the primary goals that your doctor will achieve if you need dentures to restore your smilePartial Dentures

A partial denture will provide you with a natural-looking way to restore your smile to its original brilliance. You will be pleased with how your new partial denture restores the gaps in your smile due to your missing teeth that cannot be corrected by a bridge. Your partial denture will be removable and made from a synthetic material supported by lightweight metal that mimics your gum tissue and teeth to give you a beautiful new smile. The partial denture will preserve your bone structure and the integrity of your existing teeth by preventing them from shifting and tilting in towards the gaps created by your missing teeth.

Missing or damaged teeth not only create discomfort, but also can lead to additional damage over time. The need to chew or speak differently, or to otherwise compensate for the missing or injured tooth, reassigns dental pressure to sensitive areas. To avoid painful complications related to a missing or damaged tooth, your dentist may recommend a bridge. A dental bridge is essentially a set of three prosthetic teeth that anchors over the top of the two healthy teeth on either side of the missing tooth. The result is restored functionality and comfort. Because bridges can now be milled out of porcelain, they’re more natural looking than their earlier counterparts made of precious metals. Unlike dental implants, bridges do not require oral surgery, but will typically need replacing every 10 to 15 years.

The Basics of Cosmetic Dentistry

Most of the people think that cosmetic dentistry is just a division of cosmetics, but the truth is, it is a division of medicine which fixes the dental defects & problems. If you think that it is just a procedure of improving the smile, then it is the time to reconsider. Everyone’s smile is precious, but it may look lethargic due to dental problems; so cosmetic dentistry is treating dental problems and the outcome of this treatment is wonderful smile and great appearance.

Common Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures

Teeth Whitening: There are many products available for whitening the teeth; however, these home kits destroy the enamel of the teeth. You don’t know what quantity of gel you need to whiten your teeth, so why choose home kits? It is always better to visit a dentist for this procedure.

Straightening of Crooked or Twisted Teeth: Dental Braces can solve this problem, but they will be fixed for a longer period of time. If you don’t like braces, then you can have invisible braces. The correction period cannot be determined without assessing your teeth. So visit your dentist and get to know about it.

Bonding: It is a flexible technique which can fill the gaps, modify, and shape your teeth. This will definitely improve your overall appearance, especially your smile. There are no reactions to this procedure, but there are more common procedures available than dental implant bonding.

Fixing Broken Teeth: Broken teeth look bad and do not represent a tutelary bonding with the gums. They damage gums as well as the remaining teeth. So, one should not overlook broken teeth. There are many cosmetic dentistry procedures are available for this purpose, such as bonding, veneers, crowns, and many other procedures. Broken teeth can be easily fixed, but you need to correct the problem at the right time. You should visit dentist frequently for your dental health checkup.

TAKING CARE OF YOUR TEETH

We all need to take care of our teeth . I learned that the hard way, along time ago. Back then, I felt like I didn’t need to pay close attention to my teeth. If I brushed on a daily and used mouthwash, everything would be fine. I found out differently.

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

I went in and found out that I had a few cavities. This explained why my mouth became so sensitive. It was bleeding all the time. Well, not all the time, but a good portion of the time. I’m sure many of you can relate to the pain I felt.

I got the necessary treatment I need and learned a few things at the same time. I am passing this information on to you my dear readers.

1) Always brush twice a day. I don’t care if you are tired and cranky at night. Brush your teeth. You don’t realize how much dirt and foot particles can build up in the mouth. The particles like to lie between the teeth. You need to get at them.

2) Floss your mouth. Try to do this about once a day. I sometimes do it only once every other day. Try to avoid this. I am still learning on this one. Even if your mouth seems fine and not sensitive at all, still floss.

3) Use mouthwash after flossing. Use it once a day or every other day. Don’t over use it. I have done this before and it made the situation worse. Mouthwash is only there to clean the extra spaces that are left behind. It’s not meant to be a substitute for brushing or flossing.

4) Most toothpaste already has the necessary ingredients, like fluoride, already in there. Don’t buy a toothpaste which has the extra fluoride listed. Fluoride is good, but too much is bad. Too much will ruin your teeth. Any dentist will tell you that.

5) If you can, try and visit a dentist regularly. The normal recommendation is every six months. If you can’t afford that, do it when you have the money.

6) Try to avoid the teeth whitening strips. Your teeth are supposed to have a very vague yellowish color to them. That’s normal. This really bright color is not.
